I am an engineer who never quite stopped being an English major. I build software systems, read seriously, and write deliberately.
This site is the intersection of those two lives: a digital garden where essays grow from field notes, the reading shelf is honest, and half-formed ideas are allowed to be visible while they mature.
The aesthetic is deliberate. The web around us is loud and bright; this place is quiet, patient and built from ordinary text files.
Publish half-formed, revise forever.
An idea can be useful before it is finished. Treat pages as plants that may grow, split or be pruned.
Let the shelf show the reading.
A library becomes honest when it records what is being read, queued and finished rather than performing taste.
Plain text over platforms.
Ordinary files are durable, portable and easy to audit. The web is a visitor, not a landlord.
Slow over new.
A garden can be updated often, but it does not need to chase every cycle of attention.
